Reduced aesthetics, concentrating on the essentials

One can only find inner peace and complete balance in a place where one feels comfortable. Unobtrusive design and simple, timeless architecture make this possible in the MAVIDA Balance

Hotel & Spa. The philosophy, "design must serve people and not the other way around“, is an aesthetic jewel in contrast to the very traditional Zell am See. In the MAVIDA Balance Hotel & Spa the person is the central focus and this is also mirrored in the puristic style of the rooms. The designer duo Evi Märklstetter and Niki Szilagyi implemented the reconstruction of the hotel. These architects from Munich had already gathered valuable experience on the team of the well-known architect Matteo Thun and were previously involved with hotel projects such as the "Vigilius Mountain Resort“ in South Tirol as well as "Side“ and "25hours“ in Hamburg.

The structure of the former Hotel Katharina was used as the architectural base. The number of rooms was reduced and an ambiance created which focuses on the essentials and not on the decor. Clean lines and warm colours such as beige, grey, brown and sand, depicting the innate beauty of the surrounding mountains, are scattered with fresh orange, red and yellow tones.

High-quality local timbers such as Elm and Larch, as well as stone, slate, pure fabrics and leather, are used in the simple design of the furnishings. Interior design was completed by well-known companies such as Casa Milano, Giulio Morelli and Buchele from Munich, as well as local firms from the area. Chosen decorative elements underline the lively but peaceful atmosphere.
