If you belong to those who love skiing in the backcountry, welcome to Zell am See. You have just discovered the passion for this sports or prefer to excert this sports in absolute security, the new routes "Schneekönigin" and "Eisbrecher" are perfect for you.

The „Schneekönigin“ takes you from the Lawinenboden to the Alpine centre and overcomes 470 metres of altitude, while the „Eisbrecher“, with the same start, takes you to the upper terminus of the Maurerlift ski lift and overcomes about 900 metres of altitude difference.

Particularly popular is also the ski tour to the Tristkogel, which ever Thursday can be done accompanied by a local Alpine guide. Also the local mountain of Thumersberg is open for ski alpinists and those who love snow-shoeing. The course to the Ronachkopf mountain is highliy impressive from a scenic point of view. As this course only overcomes 500 metres of altitude difference it is also ideal for beginners.

Also off the secured routes, there are plenty of possibilities, but that's almost self-evident in a region with thirty mountains that are higher than three-thousand metres in the immediate surroundings.
