Routen
The “Snow Queen” on the Kitzsteinhorn leads from the Lawinenboden to the Alpine Center and overcomes about 479 meters in altitude, while the “Icebreaker” leads to the top station of the Maurer lift with the same start. There are 900 vertical meters to be mastered here.
The ski tour on the Tristkogel is also particularly popular and can be carried out on Thursdays together with a certified ski instructor.
The local mountain of Thumersbach is also open to ski tourers and snowshoe hikers. The route to the Ronachkopf is very impressive in terms of landscape - due to the small difference in altitude of 500 meters, this tour can also be mastered by beginners.
Apart from the busy routes, the selection is varied - but how could it be otherwise, in a region in the heart of the Alps with 30 three-thousand-meter peaks in the immediate vicinity.
What you should take in your backpack…
Our stunning natural environment has a lot to offer. Nevertheless, it is good to always have some things with you. These things belong in your ski touring backpack: warm change of clothes, weather-proof clothing & equipment, hat, gloves, possibly a ski helmet, sun & ski goggles, sun protection for the skin, on a spring tour - crampons, avalanche transceiver, avalanche probe, shovel, sufficient provisions to eat & drink, info about weather & avalanche warning report, maps & tour information, mobile phone & emergency numbers, camera & possibly binoculars.
